I remember when the very first T5 came out in 1985 , Scootering magazine has that advert with a Red T5 wheeling across the pages with a full faced helmet rider implying this is our latest sports model and it's a 125 for learners !!

For all young rally going scooterists back then, to have 125cc scooter that did 70mph was mind blowing , we could race up the motorways along with the tuned scooters on a factory standard machine , we did'nt mind that it had a big ugly head, it flew along !

The T5 ( 5 ports on a nikasil lined aluminium barrel ) was a revelation in Piaggio's engine design , a super quick 125cc was a winner among young scooterists the world over. There were so many changes to the what was the standard PX models , cosmetically the headset and the longer chassis to accommodate a longer seat it had most of it's changes in the engine , special gearing, a unique carb with larger air filter, special bolt on expansion chamber all to enhance it's super tuned barrel with shortened wide webbed crank , everything about it was uniquely redesign.

This was the first variant the mk1 was known for it's digital rev counter on this very impressive car like dashboard/speedo .

Finish off with hub caps, floor mats and of course under body spoilers to help keep that front wheel firmly on the ground.

This iconic scooter has been lovenly restored to original spec throughout , original Formula-1 red , it starts and runs like it should everything works .
