Scooter Bodywork Repair & Resprays

The stunning all metal bodywork with its classic curves is a key feature of vintage Italian scooters. Retrospective, in conjuction with The London Scooter Bodyshop, are a leading bodywork and respray specailists in the field.

An absolutely essential part of any vintage Vespa or Lambretta restoration is the bodywork repair & respray.

This just happens to be one of our specialties.

Whilst some may choose to leave it in its original condition and have a great commuter scooter that they can leave in town without worrying, most will be looking to have their scooter bodywork restored and resprayed to as new condition.
Anyone who has ever owned a classic Vespa knows they are prone to a bit of rust and the odd war wound (dent) here and there, even the most careful owner will have trouble keeping evil rust from the Vespas all metal bodywork particularly after 30-40 years.

Well, we are proud to say that, in partnership with The London Scooter Bodyshop (who are located within our large garage facility) our bodywork and respray service is widely regarded as the best there is. Many say it is even better than the factory finish - and that is what we aim for.
Whether it is a full Vespa restoration, a basic respray or just an accident repair, you can be confident that the paint work will be immaculate and to your own colour specifications.

We can match any colour scheme and use only Max Meyer paint codes as do Piaggio.

Our in-house shotblasting facility uses a fine re-cycled glass for a better in depth blast that does not warp panelwork, we do all our own blasting which also speeds up our process too as many other restorers have to use third parties for this.

Only the best hand picked re-made metal floors and body work panels are used and we spend time on dry building our restorations to make the  perfect fit. 

The on-site panelbeaters and fabricators are a skilled team who know the in's and out's of these classic scooters and know the complex shape of Vespas and Lambrettas. We try to minimise the use of filler and always prefer to panelebeat where we can.

All steel and aluminium welding undertaken on site too.

Rust proofing and stone-chip treatment to the underside with good quality seam sealer used by our re-spray partner (Dave of The London Scoooter Bodyshop) who only works on vintage Vespas and Lambrettas and they have undertaken thousands of restorations for us.
