Vespa 50 Special Electric 1982

Vespa 50 Special in original paint converted to electric now with our new set up with Large battery for up to 40 mile range also with

underseat storage for battery charger to be carried on board .

Our new postion for the battery on small frames ( and large frames) behind the leg shield allows for our largest battery or medium to carried which has an urban range of 35-40 mile is easy to reach and remove and/or charge on board . The postion utilised the spare wheel holder anchor points to hold our new legshield battery tray and we have also made a wheel cover to protect and hide the battery.

The new battery position also balances the weight distribution on the scooter to its advantage in handling it has become more centrally balanced and bring a little more weight to the front of the Vespa where it needs its.

With the battery gone from underneath the seat there has now been added an underseat storage compartment for thepurpose of carrying a charger , very useful if ever you needa top up our new 15 amps chargers now boost charge a battery to 0-70% in less than 1 hour.

Excellent little run about-town and very fast of the mark , light and nimble.

Registered as a 50cc equivalent it can be ridden by 16 year old or full car licence holder test taken before Jan 2001 therefore requires NO CBT and can carry a passenger.

ULEZ exempt.

We like to give our customers flexibility when buying a vintage scooter, as soon as we get bikes in we give them a full check over then put them up for sale in their current condition. This allows customers to buy them as they are if they wish (and perform any restoration or maintenance work themselves) or work with us to create their dream bike.  Below are our typical restoration service levels and work that you can expect to get.

sold as is

These bikes are in the original condition we got them in. The scooter might be an old barn find or a previously restored bike in great condition and ready to roll (or anything in between).

level 1 restoration

This focuses on a mechanical overhaul on the scooter and perhaps some essential cosmetic work. We will do what is required to get it  up and running reliably and to pass an MOT.  It will be a great runner and something to invest time in if you wish.

complete restoration

This is what we are famous for.  A full scooter restoration involves bare metal strip down, repair and respray, a total mechanical over haul of the engine, carb, gearbox and forks as well as all new trim. Like a brand new scooter and to your specification
